After presenting academic conference papers this month on the topic of language, grammar, and style in the creative writing classroom, I’m looking forward to serving up some of my own creative writing this week, as well as celebrating the creative writing of Jaime Clarke and some of his friends.
I’m honored to be participating in two lit events as part of Jaime’s April residency at KGB Bar. (Info below)
On Thursday, April 24th, 7-9 PM, I’ll be part of a table reading of Jaime’s new play Hill Blocks View, based on Clarke’s Martens trilogy. It will be a fun time. Please consider joining us.
And on FRIDAY, April 25th, 7-10 PM, I’ll be reading from my own contribution to MINOR CHARACTERS, an anthology featuring short fictions by contemporary writers spotlighting the secondary characters in the Martens trilogy. (More info in the link.)
Because we’re celebrating not only Jaime Clarke’s work, but also the legendary KGB Bar, please read my tribute to the bar (https://brooklynrail.org/2025/04/books/you-had-to-be-there-and-can-be/).
Hope to see you there!https://www.kgbreading.com/readings
